 Toby Baier   Tigris Developer Spotlight

I'm a full time student at University Hamburg, Germany, working on my Diploma thesis, which is about "A metamodel for a development environment for distributed and concurrent object-oriented systems". This led me to ArgoUML, the open source Java-implemented UML tool, which needed a new metamodel at the time. Now most of my time flows into ArgoUML (leaving the thesis behind...) because I became ArgoUML module owner for metamodel related stuff, and in fact I do most of the coding and organization for the upcoming version 0.8 of ArgoUML. See my homepage about that.

After finishing my diploma thesis I hope to get a job as an assistant at University Hamburg, writing a doctoral thesis at the "Distributed Sytems Department" about modeling in various fashions. Of course, I will keep up work on ArgoUML during that time.

In my spare time I'm a bass guitar player in a Folk-Rock-Pop band named Isolation. I'm 25 years old, and I grew up south of Hamburg, Germany. Seems like I'm stuck in this part of the world, but I like it quite a lot, and as I'm in contact with people all around the world (ArgoUML is being developed in California, France, Germany, Norway, Brasil, Russia (Novosibirsk) and many other countries), I do not think I have a narrow view of the world.
If you want to know more about me, please send me an email.
