A status report, and timey-wimey prod: We're still basically on track
for the Tigris upgrade:

> Create tigris 5.3.0 stage site 2d Thu

> QA testing 5d Tue
> 1/19/10 Mon 1/25/10
> Community testing 10d Tue
> 1/26/10 Mon 2/8/10
> Production upgrade of tigris to 5.3.0 1d Fri
> 2/12/10 Fri 2/12/10

Note that "community testing" phase, coming up in about a week. What
that means is, everyone with a spare moment tries to beat up a copy of
Tigris we're setting up (the "stage" system), to make sure there are
no problems with the new software. This Means You (as everyone loves
to say)!

Please plan to help us test the stage site. Please recruit your
friends, relatives, and small pets as well. Have them subscribe to
this list (send email to announce-subscribe at tigris dot org). Both you and
they should also subscribe to the "staging" list (staging-subscribe at tigris dot org
), which I've set up for discussions of the actual staging testing.
Note that the staging discussion is on the real Tigris, not the
staging site. That's just in case we find some clever way of crashing
the staging site: we can still discuss how it happened on the staging
list.
